Dunn Solutions Group TEAMed with Credit Firm to Service Vendors on the Web

Fleet Business Credit Corporation's (FBCC) clients are vendors who wish to offer a leasing option to their clients. FBCC provides both service and the funds for the lease. FBCC wanted a low-maintenance tracking system to give vendors user-friendly, state-of-the-art computer environment to track the status of their leases. The new system had to provide real-time information accurately, allowing vendors flexible and reliable access while maintaining tight security.

Aware of the technical strengths that Dunn Solutions Group could offer, FBCC partnered with Dunn Consultants to explore the technical and economic feasibility of a new lease tracking system. Then, FBCC relied on Dunn's experience in software project management to implement the application on-time and within budget.

Dunn first studied FBCC's business model before working with its staff to plan the Technology for Effective Account Management system (TEAM). The TEAM system was designed to set FBCC apart from other leasing companies by offering vendors access to updated information via the Internet, while protecting data through password restrictions and encryption.

Crucial to TEAM's success was obtaining buy-in from FBCC's business users. By seeking input early in the specification process from employees who had direct contact with vendors, Dunn was able to design a more powerful system. Also important throughout the development stages was Dunn's strong communication links with FBCC business users, helping give them a sense of ownership over the system, which they would ultimately manage.

Of special importance to the project's success was the vigorous quality assurance testing. Dunn QA Specialists identified and helped correct potential bugs before the system was deployed and FBCC employees were trained. Finally, a vendor opinion survey was taken, revealing that they were ecstatic about the benefits TEAM offered.

TEAM has been a boom to FBCC's sales efforts, offering both current and prospective vendors valuable and unique functionality. Vendors can view and print reports on billing, payment and delinquency updated in real-time across the Internet. TEAM also alerts vendors before leases expire, signaling opportunities to sell more products and services.

The ease of use of TEAM's graphical interface minimizes calls to FBCC's technical support. TEAM also provides FBCC's IS with an easy method for customizing new vendors and maintaining existing vendors.

FBCC staff was so delighted with the results of the DUNN-FBCC partnership that they soon hired Dunn Solutions Group to build a second Internet application to compliment TEAM.
